| The newly promoted team from Saxony didn't start the new season with much success last week. Now they're looking for a win in their clash with FC Magdeburg in the eastern region to help them overcome last week's disappointment. Magdeburg knows how to defend itself, but is no longer a particularly strong away team and in a heated derby like this, it is quite possible that the traveling fans will have to witness a defeat for their team at the Rudolf Harbig Stadium. Dresden and Magdeburg have met six times in the last ten years and Dynamo have remained undefeated every time. Three wins, three draws, and most recently two 1-0 victories a few seasons ago. The record clearly favors Dresden but there's always fire in the Eastern clash. While Magdeburg was the best away team in the last second division season, the guests are currently waiting for a win in six away games in the second division. Three draws, three losses, so a point for Dynamo is therefore the minimum. Dresden was the best home team in the 3rd division last season. Only two defeats in 19 home games speak for themselves. |
